Dedicated to my friend and Nashville mentor, Jim "Hobe" Stanton, {1919-1989} founder and owner of Rich-R-Tone Records, Champ Records & Tapes, and Champ Recording Studio for his valuable lessons and urging me to start my own label and blaze a new trail. This article "Country Music Pioneers -Jim Stanton" appeared in the Nashville publication, Country Music Parade, on page 26, Volume 3, No.2 of the March-April 1986 Issue. It was written by Tommy Floyd, a Nashville Session Musician who played Bass Guitar on all of my Nashville recording sessions. "Hooked On Rodeo" is the first of many of my songs that I recorded at Champ Recording Studio during the 1980s.
